Optimization of fuel cell performance requires a complex multiparameter regression strategy. The complexity is compounded by the fact that electrochemistry is coupled with multiphase diffusional and convective mass transport as well as heat transport.

In this webinar, you will get an introduction to the COMSOL Multiphysics® software and hear from our guest speaker Dr. Ashish Lele, director of the National Chemical Laboratory, India. In his presentation, Dr. Lele will give an overview about preliminary fuel cell studies using COMSOL simulations and 1D analytical modeling of isothermal cathode-side operation in a fuel cell. He will also showcase some of this work for single-channel and more complex flow field geometries in PEM fuel cells.

In addition, you will get a brief overview of how to model fuel cell and electrolyzer systems using the COMSOL® software and the add-on Fuel Cell & Electrolyzer Module. We will conclude with a live Q&A session with Dr. Lele and a member of the COMSOL team.
