COMSOL, Inc. is seeking a video editor to join our Video team in Burlington, MA.

Job Description

You will be part of a group tasked with producing videos for an engineering and science audience. We produce all of our videos in-house.

As part of our Video team, you will help edit and publish videos that demonstrate how to use the COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software, explain different engineering concepts in an engaging way, and more. In the beginning, you will be tasked with editing videos based on ideas and assets delivered by other in-house teams, but as you become familiar with our target audience, you should be able to contribute your own ideas as well.

This Role Entails

  • Editing and publishing videos based on provided assets for external and internal use
    • Start by largely following established templates and styles
    • As you grow, pitch your own ideas
  • Collaborating with various in-house teams on video projects
    • For example, outlines and scripts will be provided by the Content and Product Information teams; various graphical elements may be provided by the Creative team, etc.
  • Compressing files for other departments
  • If you have a knack for it: Recording voice over from a provided script

Required Skills

  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Understanding of different video file formats and how to edit and deliver them appropriately
  • Knowledge of creation pipelines, project workflows, video archiving, and data management best practices
  • 1–5 years of relevant professional experience

Helpful Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Adobe After Effects
  • Understanding of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
  • Project management experience
  • Experience recording voice over
