Time stepping after remeshing

In a simulation which requires remeshing the time dependent solver starts with a minute time step after remeshing. I've tried enabling the "initial step" and "consistent initialization" option, to no avail. See attached convergence plot.

Is there a way to: 1. Avoid the drop to small timestep after remeshing? 2. Allow faster timestep growth after remeshing (currently it is x2)?

Thanks, Emil
