LiveLink™ for Excel® Updates

For users of LiveLink™ for Excel®, COMSOL Multiphysics® version 5.3a includes a button to easily import 1D plots from the COMSOL Multiphysics® software into the Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheet software, which you can read about in more detail below.

1D Plot Export

You can now export data from COMSOL Multiphysics® 1D plots to the Excel® spreadsheet software within the Excel® interface, making it easier to work with plots and the data that define the plot. The new button, placed in the Numerical Results section of the COMSOL ribbon tab in Excel®, extracts the numerical data from a plot you select and optionally creates a corresponding chart as an Excel® Scatter chart. When the model is updated in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software, it is possible to automatically update the data, as well as the chart, by clicking the Update button.

Using the 1D Plot Export window (top-right), the plot data for the 1D Plot Group (bottom-right window) is extracted from a COMSOL Multiphysics® model and an Excel® chart is then generated from the extracted data and embedded into the worksheet (left window).
