The Wave Optics Module is an add-on to the COMSOL Multiphysics® software for full-wave electromagnetics simulation, providing design and optimization capabilities for applications including directional couplers, metamaterials, scattering by nanoparticles, and nonlinear optical waveguides.

The Wave Optics Module features the innovative beam envelope method that enables the simulation of optically large systems where the wavelength is substantially smaller than the system geometry. Absorption, scattering, diffraction, and other optical phenomena can be readily investigated using this module.
