Online Training Course: Corrosion Engineering and Cathodic Protection Simulations

Mar 03 - Mar 05, 2020 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Back to Events Calendar

In this online course you can learn how to use simulation software to model corrosion and corrosion protection. The Corrosion Module in COMSOL Multiphysics® is packed with technology that is easy to use, and makes it possible to create models at multiple scales and complexity levels. Ranging from microscopic scales of localized corrosion on grain boundaries in a metal, via complex chemistry in small crevices, to full scale modeling of the cathodic protection systems of an oil field or a chemical plant.

The course is an online course spanning over three days with six sessions in total. The morning sessions will last for two hours, and there will be an 1 hour afternoon session for answering questions that has popped up during given tutorials that day. Several tutorials with step by step instructions will be given to support the theory and modeling procedures that are explained.

During the online training course, you will receive an introduction to the theory and assumptions behind the electrochemistry interfaces in the Corrosion Module, an add-on to COMSOL Multiphysics®. With this overview, you will have the background required for making the optimal selection of model descriptions for specific purposes and conditions.
